The two bordering regions enjoy a long-standing friendship, Aleksandr Bogomaz noted. They share a common history and a common heritage. "The most important thing is not to forget our common roots, history, common military feats of our ancestors and to educate young people on them," the governor said.
Speaking about the development of economic ties, Aleksandr Bogomaz noted that the trade between the regions has been growing even in the difficult conditions associated with the spread of coronavirus.
The joint venture Bryanskselmash has been doing well. According to Aleksandr Bogomaz, the joint venture is the second in Russia producing farm machines. "Every year it increases the output, produces new line-ups, taps into new markets, modernizes the production, localizes it," he said.
Joint projects are implemented by the institutions of higher education of the regions, R&D agencies. Business also maintains successful cooperation, Aleksandr Bogomaz said. “We continue learning from you,” he said.
On 29 September the governors Gomel Oblast and Bryansk Oblast discussed ways to further develop cooperation, visited industrial companies of the Belarusian region, educational institutions, sports facilities, and memorials.
