More than 100 young deputies, parliamentarians, historians and public figures from the two states have gathered here. Together they will discuss forms and methods of preserving historical memory and work out a common approach to protecting historical truth.

Chairman of the Standing Commission on Health Care, Physical Culture, Family and Youth Policy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Valery Malashko noted that the historical forum has become an important part of the "Youth for the Union State" festival, complementing it with patriotic content. "We understand the importance of our historical truth and heritage, of understanding it correctly, and above all among young people. Geopolitics is so changeable, it influences the minds of our citizens so much, including changing our lives, that understanding one's roots is becoming increasingly important," he said.

All young people are different, but they share common values. "They are all united by a sense of belonging to our common history, to our Fatherland. And it is important that, returning to their workplaces, research and teaching teams, they will continue to convey historical truth," Valery Malashko concluded.
The forum programme spans two days: today a plenary session will be held at the Museum of Glory of the Mogilev Region and thematic sections at Mogilev State A. Kuleshov University. Open lectures, excursions, meetings and discussions are also planned.
