In the summer of 2026, the V Congress of Small Cities of the Grodno and Nizhny Novgorod Regions will be held in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. According to the participants of the roundtable in Grodno, the forum will have a pronounced economic focus for the first time.

The Belarusian side is organized by the 5+ Alliance, which unites seven districts of the Grodno region: Volkovyssky, Zelvensky, Mostovsky, Svislochsky, Slonimsky, Shchuchinsky, and Voronovsky. It is this format of inter-municipal cooperation that has interested the partners from Nizhny Novgorod.

Valentin Semenyako, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the House of Representatives, noted that the main thing now is to fill the interaction with specific economic projects:
"It is necessary to form delegations so that they include people who are competent in the areas of mutual interest. It is important that entrepreneurs can meet in advance, work on projects, and come to the congress with ready-made agreements."

Andrey Dudkin, Head of the Nizhny Novgorod Region's Representation in Belarus, recalled that the previous four congresses provided the parties with valuable experience. The Nizhny Novgorod governors highly appreciate the opportunity to learn from Belarusian practices in urban planning, housing and public utilities, and social development. Youth cooperation is also actively developing.
