Belarus, Russia’s Ulyanovsk Oblast to expand cooperation in transportation

Belarus and Ulyanovsk Oblast have discussed cooperation in the transport sector, the press service of the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry told BelTA after Deputy Transport and Communications Minister Minister Aleksandr Postnikov met with Governor of Russia’s Ulyanovsk Oblast Aleksey Russkikh.

Aleksandr Postnikov noted that experience of cooperation with enterprises in Ulyanovsk Oblast is already available, particularly in civil aviation and the supply of imported products for Belarusian Railways. “Today we have been granted an additional opportunity to expand contacts by discussing proposals for the maintenance and restoration of track maintenance vehicles and infrastructure of Belarusian Railways. We are open to discussing any initiatives in detail,” he said.
In turn, Aleksey Russkikh stressed that Ulyanovsk Oblast actively cooperates with virtually all oblasts of the republic in various areas. “We have achieved such joint results thanks to systematic work over the past five years. I would like to emphasize that we have sufficient expertise in the maintenance, repair and production of track maintenance vehicles,” the governor said.
The sides expressed confidence that joint efforts will help achieve even greater results in bilateral cooperation.
