Russian president arrives in Minsk

Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Belarus, BelTA has learned.

On 23 November, Minsk will host a session of the CSTO Collective Security Council under the chairmanship of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko. The CSTO Collective Security Council is set to discuss topical issues of international and regional security, to set the tasks and adopt a number of documents to ensure the interests of collective security.

The presidents of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, Emomali Rahmon and Sadyr Japarov, arrived in Minsk on 22 November. Aleksandr Lukashenko held meetings with them in the Palace of Independence in the evening of 22 November.

Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev touched down in Minsk in the morning of 23 November.

Thus, all participants of the current session of the CSTO Collective Security Council have arrived in Minsk. Earlier it became known that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan would not attend the summit.

The CSTO members are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
