Russian paratroopers arrive in Brest Oblast to participate in army exercise

Units of the 76th Guards Air Assault Division of the Russian army have arrived in the exercise area Brestsky in order to participate in the scheduled Belarusian-Russian tactical exercise Slavyanskoye Bratstvo 2020 [Slavonic Brotherhood], the Defense Ministry told BelTA.

During the exercise the Belarusian army will be represented by military personnel of the 38th Independent Guards Air Assault Brigade of the Special Operations Forces Command. Up to 1,500 military personnel, over 150 Air Force units, combat and special hardware units will be used in the practical phase of the exercise.
The exercise will include two phases. The first stage will focus on team building and cohesion between units. The second phase will take place in the exercise area Brestsky in Brest District and in a section of the Mukhavets River on 21-23 September.
During the exercise the Belarusian and Russian paratroopers will practice working together to accomplish missions in the course of fighting terrorism, organizing and carrying out special actions as part of counterterrorism operations. Some of the combat training missions will be performed at night, including marching, airborne insertion, river crossing, and live ammunition fire.
