“We have been working closely with our colleagues, primarily from the Russian Federation. Last year a section of one of the Union State programs was implemented in full. It concerned the harmonization of statistical indicators and the presentation of the most detailed data on the development of Belarus and Russia,” Inna Medvedeva said.

Given the documents signed by the heads of state of Belarus and Russia, the National Statistical Committee of Belarus will continue this work in 2024, including on statistical classifiers, programs of international comparisons, continued harmonization, and SDGs. “This is our daily work. We have been working with Russia’s Federal Service for State Statistics (Rosstat) and we enjoy good friendly ties. A meeting of the Russia-Belarus Statistical Council will take place in Smolensk in May 2024,” she said.

The National Statistical Committee of Belarus also continues to work closely and exchange methodology with counterparts from the CIS and the EU. “This helps us improve our positions and statistical capacity,” Inna Medvedeva said.
