Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko will travel to Vitebsk Oblast on a working visit on 15 July, BelTA has learned.

In the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee the Belarusian head of state is set to meet with representatives of Vitebsk Oblast. Aleksandr Lukashenko has already held similar meetings in Mogilev, Grodno, Soligorsk, Brest, and Minsk.

The president is expected to take part in an official ceremony to open the Polotsk overpass. The overpass was built in the late 19th century. It was last renovated in 1958. The overpass is of crucial importance for the road network of Vitebsk. The new overpass is a bridge 45m wide and 412m long. Thanks to the well-coordinated work of construction organizations from different regions of the country the bridge was built within 20 months instead of 49 months envisaged in the construction plan.
