Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev as the country celebrates Republic Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

Belarus highly appreciates the steps taken by Kazakhstan to strengthen sovereignty and territorial integrity, to implement large-scale transformations in the economy and social affairs and the efforts to build constructive relations both within the multinational state and in the international arena, the president noted.

“The friendship between our peoples has its roots in our shared history, the intertwined human destinies and the common trials that Belarusians and Kazakhstanis had to endure in the 20th century,” the message said. “The two countries have similar approaches to the integration, international partnerships and cooperation, which is manifested in the world's major organizations.”

The Belarusian head of state expressed confidence that the atmosphere of trust and understanding established between Minsk and Astana will continue to create new opportunities and unlock the potential of mutually beneficial collaboration.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Kassym-Jomart Tokayev good health and success in all his endeavors and the friendly people of Kazakhstan - wellbeing and prosperity.
