Eismont reveals details of preparations for Lukashenko’s inauguration

Belarusian president’s Press Secretary Natalya Eismont told the media about the preparations for the inauguration of Belarusian head of state Aleksandr Lukashenko following his victory in the January presidential election. A video of the press secretary's commentary was published on the Vremya Pervogo Telegram channel, BelTA has learned.

“We are planning, considering the parts it will consist of. We know that traditionally there are several of them. We are thinking over, maybe, some new elements, details. Of course, there will be nothing extraordinary. All the basic elements will be preserved. We are looking, however, for something to diversify and decorate this most important ceremony,” Natalya Eismont said.

According to the Constitution of Belarus, the President assumes office after taking the following oath: “On assuming the office of the President of the Republic of Belarus, I solemnly swear to faithfully serve the people of the Republic of Belarus, to respect and protect human and civil rights and freedoms, to observe and protect the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, to fulfill the high duties entrusted to me in a holy and conscientious manner”.

The oath shall be taken in a solemn atmosphere in the presence of members of the Presidium of the Belarusian People's Congress, members of the House of Representatives and of the Council of the Republic, judges of the Constitutional and Supreme Courts not later than two months from the date of the presidential election.
