Candidate registration for 2025 presidential election in Belarus to start on 22 December

The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus has published the 2025 presidential election calendar plan on its website, BelTA has learned.

The registration of initiative groups of presidential candidates will be held through 1 November.
The collection of signatures in support of prospective candidates will run from 7 November to 6 December.
The CEC will accept the documents necessary for candidate registration on 7-21 December.
Candidate registration will take place on 22-31 December. Candidates will be issued registration certificates within two days after registration.
Election campaigning and distribution of campaign materials will be conducted on 1-25 January 2025.
Early voting will take place on 21-25 January, with the main voting day to be held on 26 January.
The CEC will announce the election results no later than 5 February, and a second round, if necessary, will be held no later than 9 February.
