Belarusian healthcare minister, Russian ambassador discuss cooperation in healthcare

Belarusian Healthcare Minister Dmitry Pinevich has met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Yevgeny Lukyanov, the ministry's press service told BelTA.

Dmitry Pinevich said that the necessary legal base on healthcare had been developed and is actively used. International agreements are implemented at the intergovernmental level and the interagency one (with the Healthcare Ministry and the consumer rights watchdog Rospotrebnadzor). Dmitry Pinevich talked about preparations for a session of the joint board of the Belarusian and Russian healthcare ministries. Participants of the session are expected to discuss quality in healthcare.

Within the framework of the fight against COVID-19 tight interaction has been established with Rospotrebnadzor. It allows pursuing a coordinated policy in the area of sanitary and epidemic welfare of the population. Dmitry Pinevich and Yevgeny Lukyanov also discussed prospects of development of the common pharmaceutical market.

The entire range of Belarusian-Russian relations was discussed during the meeting. The sides focused on trade and economic cooperation and search for new forms of cooperation.
