Belarus’ CEC accredits 27,790 national observers for 2024 elections

Belarus’ Central Election Commission had a meeting with the chairmen of territorial and district election commissions to discuss the topical issues of preparation for the elections on the single voting day in Minsk on 7 February, BelTA learned from the Central Election Commission.

"For the time being, the CEC of Belarus has accredited 122 international observers. The CIS long-term mission has begun to work in earnest. We continue to receive applications for accreditation from international observers for short-term observation,” Chairman of the Central Election Commission Igor Karpenko noted. 

Igor Karpenko noted that 27,790 national observers have been accredited in Belarus. "This figure takes into account all levels of commissions, from the Central Election Commission to the precinct commissions that are already up and running," he stressed. The CEC head also noted that workshops for precinct commissions are held in the regions.
