Belarus authorizes use of physical force, special means against UAVs

 On 7 October Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 392 which provides a new wording of Decree No. 215 “On preventing flights of aircraft models and unmanned aerial vehicles” of 5 June 2019, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The document formalizes the right to use physical force, special tools, weapons, military and special equipment not only in relation to aircraft models and UAVs, but also unmanned aircraft, unmanned vehicles, including underwater and surface vessels, land vehicles and complexes, which are controlled remotely or automatically.

In accordance with the decree, the right to use weapons and special means in relation to drones, along with servicemen (employees) of military formations and internal affairs bodies, shall also be granted to employees (workers, officials) of other paramilitary organizations. According to the decree, these are are the bodies of the Prosecutor's Office, the Investigative Committee, the State Forensic Examination Committee, the financial investigation bodies of the State Control Committee, the State Inspectorate for Fauna and Flora Protection under the President of the Republic of Belarus, the emergencies bodies and subdivisions, and the customs authorities.
