Belarusian medicines, including vital anticancer agents, are in high demand on the Russian market. This was stated at a press conference by Elena Kalinichenko, head of the KhimPharmSintez Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and a chemistry scientist, according to a Soyuz.by correspondent.

According to her, the center meets the needs of the Belarusian hospital sector and exports half of its products, primarily to Russia. "Russians are queuing to sell our products. For some drugs, we have even captured 20% or more of the Russian market. We are, of course, striving for greater success," Kalinichenko emphasized. She noted that the quality of Belarusian medications is a key factor in their success. The center specializes in the production, registration, and sale of cutting-edge medications, including anticancer, antiviral, and anti-tuberculosis drugs.

Elena Kalinichenko also highlighted the role of women in science and industry. Around 65% of the center's employees are middle-aged women (35-40 years old), who, in her opinion, successfully combine professional fulfillment with family life. The scientist herself has authored hundreds of scientific papers and developed several finished dosage forms, and in 2024, she was awarded the title of "Scientist of the Year of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus." Currently, the Scientific and Production Center "KhimPharmSintez" is implementing a new project to develop and expand production to increase export potential.
