From reconnaissance to SAM firing. What tasks are performed during training with the Air Force and Air Defense Force at the testing ground in Russia

Military personnel conduct continuous radar reconnaissance. Deployed radar stations are able to detect, recognize and track the target in a matter of seconds, emphasized the Defense Ministry. 

"In the coming days, there will be combat shootings of anti-aircraft missile systems at the polygon. The missions of the anti-aircraft missile units can only be carried out in close cooperation with the radio-technical units. It is a kind of "eyes" and "ears" of anti-aircraft missile units, with which we jointly carry out tasks for air defense , - noted the commander of the radio-engineering brigade.

"We conduct radar reconnaissance of the airspace, after which we give intelligence to Air Defence and Air Force. The mood of the personnel is combative. I am confident that we will accomplish all the tasks with high quality, - said the commander.

As previously reported, under the leadership of the Deputy Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces Troops Mikhail Matrosov, from 25 August to 10 September, an operational-tactical exercises with Air Defence Force and Air Force is being conducted. In the first stage of the exercise military units worked on issues related to providing air protection for objects and troops from enemy attacks, and also carried out training exercises. The second stage takes place at one of Russia’s trining grounds. On 8 September, it was put on combat duty.
