The details of the celebration of the City Day in Minsk became known

On September 12, Minsk marks its 959th anniversary with celebrations. What holiday events are planned for this date, said at a press conference the deputy head of the culture department of the Ministry of Management Svetlana Silic, reports Soyuz.by.

She noted that the holiday activities had already started and would continue. September 9 at 16:00 in the Minsk City Hall a solemn ceremony of awarding residents who have made significant contributions to the social and economic development of the city will be held, as well as citizens who take an active part in maintaining public order. On September 11 at 16:00 the results of the competition of professional skills "Minsky Master" will be drawn up. More than 1,800 people took part in the qualifying stages and 48 winners were identified and 15 of them are young people under 33. On the same day, the 5th Minsk International Forum for Economic Cooperation takes place.
Svetlana Silich emphasized that main events await citizens on September 12. "The celebration will begin with a solemn ceremony of laying flowers at the Minsk City Hero Obelisk at 10:00. On the territory of the museum-park complex "Pobeda" 10th international competitions "Strongest firefighter" with the participation of more than 100 athletes will be held. In the central part of the city will be held a festival of historical reconstruction "Minsk Starazhytny" with the participation of about 500 reconstructors from Belarus, Russia and China", - noted the speaker.
On the site near the Sports Palace at 11:30 a cultural and entertainment program "Minsk of my soul" will start with the participation of folk artists and youth creative collectives. Russian artist Akmal will be the headliner of the program. A holiday fair will be held from 10:00 to 23:00. At 17:00 the "Minchanin of the Year" award ceremony will be held in Svobody Square, accompanied by the National Presidential Orchestra.
Gorky Central Children’s Park hosts "Festival of Professions" from 11:00 to 17:00 with concerts, exhibitions, workshops and presentations of educational institutions. The final point of the City Day is a pyrotechnic show at 23:00 from the park "Starostinskaya Sloboda".
