Filming of the large-scale international feature film "Victory Postman" has started in Smolevichi district of Belarus, which will be the first full-length project in 35 years jointly produced by Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia. The premiere of the film, dedicated to the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, is scheduled for 2026. The project is positioned as a Eurasian initiative uniting three countries in an effort to preserve the memory of the heroic deed of the Soviet people, and its basis is the memory of spiritual roots and human destinies of wartime.

The film is being created by the Kazakh film companies Sezar Group and Centurion Film with the participation of partners from Russia and Belarus under the joint supervision of the general producer and ideological inspirer, the famous Kazakhstani screenwriter and director Aidar Batalov. The film takes place in 1943 on the territory of the Byelorussian SSR and tells the story of an 18-year-old soldier, postman Azamat, played by a young Kazakh actor Alikhan Nurzhauov. His hero, dreaming of a feat, delivers mail to the front line every day, until he accidentally discovers a group of German saboteurs, which dramatically changes his fate.

The first filming took place in a historical location near the village of Kamenka, where fierce battles really took place during the war. Russian director of photography Ainur Askarov, who is leading the process, stressed that the team's goal is not just to reconstruct the era, but to try to feel the space where the events took place and convey his voice to the modern audience. Working in conditions of short daylight hours, cold and swampy terrain required full dedication from the cast and crew. Russian actor Vasily Kopeikin noted the difficulty, but also the importance of achieving historical authenticity, including the work of costume designers who painstakingly created worn overcoats and worn boots. Alikhan Nurzhauov added that the main idea of the film is to show how even a seemingly insignificant person can contribute to a common Victory.
