The partners from Minsk and Kazan agreed to significantly increase the volume of exchange trading in order to achieve a new ambitious goal — a turnover of $ 1 billion in the short term. This became known following the results of a professional online seminar on trade mechanisms in the Union State. The meeting, organized with the assistance of the Trade and Economic Representative Office of Tatarstan in Belarus, showed that the parties plan to ensure a balance of imports and exports by intensifying mutual supplies of industrial goods, including within the framework of the import substitution strategy.

The head of the representative office of the Russian region, Ilham Kashapov, stressed that in the long term it is planned to double the achieved billion figure. According to him, stock trading has already proved its effectiveness as a reliable connecting bridge between producers and consumers, providing thousands of transactions annually. "We always recommend using the exchange platform as one of the most reliable options for working on the Belarusian market," Kashapov noted. Currently, according to German Puzyrny, Deputy head of the Department of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BOOTB), Russian companies are trading mainly as buyers. For example, Tatarstan ranks fourth among all regions in terms of imports of Belarusian dairy products, actively purchasing powdered milk, butter, cheeses, cream and cottage cheese.

Sergey Mayorov, Adviser to the Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan, drew attention to the untapped potential, especially in the segment of petrochemical and industrial products. To realize these opportunities, it is planned to organize a visit to Minsk by a delegation of business circles from Kazan in the first quarter of next year. The purpose of the trip will be to get acquainted in detail with the work of the BOOTB and the accreditation of Tatarstan companies to participate in bidding for new groups of goods, which will be an important step towards increasing economic cooperation.
