Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Yuri Seliverstov paid a visit to Krasnodar Territory on 8 April, BelTA has learned.

The multifaceted cooperation between Belarus and this Russian region was discussed during talks with Krasnodar Territory Deputy Governor Alexander Ruppel. “Krasnodar Territory has traditionally been one of our most important trade and economic partners among Russian regions. We not only supply nearly our entire range of machinery - from fire trucks to apron buses - but are also developing industrial cooperation within several large-scale projects,” Yuri Seliverstov said at the meeting.

He stated that the parties remain in constant working contact to identify new growth points in their cooperation. For example, the ambassador cited projects in the areas of utility services, water purification, and water treatment as being relevant to the region.

“For over 20 years, Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Belarus have been closely cooperating in trade, economic, scientific, technical, and cultural sectors under an existing cooperation agreement. It has become a solid foundation upon which working mechanisms for interaction in industry, the creation of joint ventures, utility services, tourism, and the humanitarian sector have been built,” Alexander Ruppel said.

Summing up the talks, Yuri Seliverstov told journalists: “Our partnership is very significant because we are working together to improve the wellbeing of citizens and make their lives better and more comfortable. This includes the use of passenger vehicles made in Minsk: you can see new buses on the streets of Krasnodar - they make it easier for people to get around.”

Another example is the region’s need for tractors: a project is currently underway to establish an assembly plant for Belarusian tractors. “The model lineup will be somewhat adjusted: there is a demand for specific tractors used for vineyard maintenance. We are also ready to work with them on this,” the ambassador said.

Other topics included the supply of firefighting equipment, food products, and much more.

During his working trip, Yuri Seliverstov also visited a dealership in Krasnodar that sells Belarusian machinery.
