Russia’s Khabarovsk Territory keen to expand supplies of Belarusian goods

The sides discussed ways to increase trade, cooperation in various areas, and supplies of machinery to mining enterprises. According to Dmitry Krutoi, trade between Belarus and Khabarovsk Territory has reached a record level this year. Belarusian manufacturers are interested in participating in major infrastructure projects in the region and are ready to offer their solutions.

Dmitry Krutoi also noted that online marketplaces are now actively expanding into Russia’s Far East, and Belarusian manufacturers could use these channels to supply goods directly to the region. This would reduce logistics costs and, consequently, the prices of goods. Khabarovsk Territory could become a pilot region for such projects.

“We managed to discuss about a dozen options. Experts will work on them through the end of the year,” Dmitry Krutoi told the media.

Dmitry Demeshin, for his part, proposed opening a specialized store selling Belarusian goods in Russia’s Khabarovsk. According to him, residents of Khabarovsk Territory know and appreciate Belarusian food products, household goods, goods for children, and household appliances. The governor sees potential in creating hybrid retail outlets where Khabarovsk and Belarusian brands would be displayed side by side. Khabarovsk Territory, in turn, is ready to expand the presence of its products in Belarus, in particular through the Made in Khabarovsk Territory project. There are plans to open stores in Minsk and Mogilev.

Khabarovsk Territory is also actively purchasing BelAZ mining trucks. The meeting also addressed the establishment of multi-brand centers. Khabarovsk Territory will offer several sites for the projects.

Dmitry Demeshin invited Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to visit the region and expressed confidence that a visit by the leader of the brotherly state would provide additional impetus to the development of Russian-Belarusian relations.

Dmitry Krutoi also held working meetings with Head of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) Aisen Nikolayev, Governor of Kamchatka Territory Vladimir Solodov, Governor of the Jewish Autonomous Oblast Maria Kostyuk, Governor of Magadan Oblast Sergei Nosov, and Mayor of Vladivostok Konstantin Shestakov. Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Yuri Seliverstov also attended the meetings. Dmitry Krutoi also visited Minsk Tractors LLC, a multi-brand center of Belarusian machinery.

All regions have expressed keen interest in developing cooperation with Belarus. Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aisen Nikolayev noted that industrial companies in the region operate about 1,000 BelAZ vehicles. New BelAZ vehicles are purchased every year as the machines have enjoyed an excellent reputation since Soviet times. In addition, some 7,000 MTZ tractors are used in Yakutia’s agricultural sector. “Today, we already have an opportunity to import Belarusian food and non-food products directly from Minsk to Yakutsk by rail. Hundreds of tonnes of cargo are already being delivered in containers. This is really valuable,” he stressed.

“We are going to see the machinery produced by our friends, including municipal and special-purpose equipment, and showcase our own achievements, including in the production of technologies for the film industry. We have developed a unique technology that is now completely sovereign and independent of U.S. standards and technologies. More than 90 cinemas are already operating on this technology. And, of course, we would also like to meet with representatives of Gomel-based Kristall jewelry plant, an enterprise that has historically been linked to Yakutia through diamonds. Overall, there are many projects we would like to discuss on the ground, including in high technology and artificial intelligence,” he said.

Dmitry Krutoi is currently taking part in the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. This is the leading platform for the development of the Far Eastern economy and the expansion of international cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region, where Belarus can promote its interests. The forum brings together representatives of government, business, and expert communities from various countries to develop joint solutions, foster partnerships, and launch new projects. The extensive business program includes a plenary session, thematic sessions, business dialogues, roundtables, and expert discussions on various tracks, including The Far East - a pole of international interaction and Technologies of the Present and Future.
