The documents were signed by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov and UN Resident Coordinator in Belarus Rasul Bagirov. Before the signing ceremony, Maxim Ryzhenkov remarked that the Belarusian side is firmly committed to implementing the entire range of proposed measures. He noted that this year’s program contains 24 points, doubling the number from the previous year.

“This plan demonstrates that cooperation between Belarus and the UN is not spontaneous, but systemic and consistent,” the Belarusian foreign minister emphasized. He added, “We have a clear vision of our direction and are committed to jointly implementing the full scope of adopted measures and our plans.”
The foreign minister noted that Belarus is undertaking extensive efforts to implement UN-related documents and agreements, organizing a great number of diverse events. This includes utilizing soft power mechanisms in areas such as culture and sport to consistently promote UN principles and ideals within society. He also emphasized the mutually enriching nature of cooperation between Belarus and the UN.

“We must keep moving forward with steady momentum,” stated the Belarusian foreign minister. He expressed gratitude to representatives of UN agencies, as well as Belarusian ministries and departments, for their active work in advancing the implementation of UN principles.
The Belarus-UN Cooperation Plan for 2026 was prepared to advance the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for Belarus for 2026-2030, which was signed on 29 December 2025. This cooperation framework serves as a strategically aligned roadmap, fully consistent with Belarus’ national priorities, namely, the National Sustainable Development Strategy through 2040 and the social and economic development program for 2026-2030. The Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework outlines four strategic priorities with corresponding long-term outcomes for each: human development and well-being for all; inclusive and sustainable economic transformation; safe and clean environment for the livelihood of people; and institutional foundations for peace and development.
