Lebedev: All CIS leaders will attend 9 May celebrations in Moscow

Leaders of the CIS member states will attend the celebrations to mark the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War in Moscow on 9 May, CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev said at a meeting of the Council of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, TASS reports.

“I am happy and pleased to announce that all CIS heads of state will attend the celebrations in Moscow on 9 May,” Sergei Lebedev said.

The Russian capital will host large-scale celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War on 9 May 2025. The main event will be the Victory Parade on Red Square.

The year 2025 in the Commonwealth of Independent States was declared the Year of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War - the Year of Peace and Unity in the Fight against Nazism.
