Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended Independence Day greetings to fellow Belarusians, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"For three decades, Belarusians have been successfully building their own sovereign state. We are inspired by the example of heroic ancestors, centuries-old history, and rich culture. We understand that the opportunity to live freely and shape one's own future is the highest value for any people," the message of greetings reads.

When defending national interests, developing the economy and the social sector, even in the most difficult times Belarusians relied only on themselves, hard work, collectivism and mutual assistance, Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed. "Today, at a time of the unprecedented economic and information pressure, this hard-won experience is again relevant. It gives us confidence that we will cope with all the problems," the head of state stated. “The strength of Belarusians is in truth, unity and patriotism. We have a beloved country that we are proud of, an army capable of rebuffing any aggressor, and a victorious people who remember the heroes and value freedom. This is why we are confident about the future."

The president wished everyone good health, peace, happiness and prosperity.
