Glazyev calls JSC "MAZ" an exemplary product of the Union State

‘Minsk Automobile Plant is the flagship of our machine-building industry, is known all over the world, has a large share in the economy and markets of the Union State,’ the State Secretary of the US stressed.

He also noted that he was visiting JSC "MAZ" to understand the prospects of the enterprise's development, assess the scale of production, as well as the possibilities to increase the output of trucks and buses.

‘I was pleasantly surprised by the technical level, the quality of products, the level of organisation, production management. It is really an advanced enterprise by world standards and it is very good that we have such flagships of the domestic industry,’ said the State Secretary of the US.

He also emphasised the importance of the fact that JSC "MAZ" machinery consists of 90 per cent domestic products. 

‘The level of added value created by Belarusian production and Russian equipment reaches, as we were told, 98 per cent for a number of items. Thus, JSC "MAZ" is, we can say, an exemplary product of the Union State,’ said Sergei Glazyev.

He said that today work is underway to define the category of goods of the Union State.

‘And here, we see a vivid and very good example of high-tech products, which are almost entirely created in Russia and Belarus. It is produced in Belarus, assembled in Belarus, but it uses Russian construction materials, Russian components, Russian engine,’ Glazyev said.  He praised the industrial co-operation between Belarusian and Russian specialists.

‘This co-operation is very valuable in the field of high added value, this is what our common economic space should work for,’ the US Secretary of State summarised.
