Belarusian Hockey Players Defeat Russia 25 in 15-Goal Thriller

Belarusian ice hockey players defeated the team Russia 25 in the National Team-2025 tour, BELTA reports.

The game took place at the Lada Arena in Tolyatti, Russia. At the beginning of the game, the hosts confidently controlled the game, opening the score in the sixth minute, and 30 seconds later increased the advantage to two goals, in the next attack they extended the gap to 3:0. However, the Belarusians were not distracted, and in the 12th minute Pavel Denisov, taking advantage of a defenceman's skate ricochet, reduced the gap by one goal. Shortly before the break, Nikita Pyshkaylo, going one-on-one, reduced the gap to a minimum – 2:3.
At the beginning of the second third, the Belarusians continued to attack and not only evened the score, but also took the lead, increasing their advantage. Two minutes after the start of the period Miroslav Mikhalev finished Vasily Filiaev's pass into an empty net, and just 20 seconds later Filiaev himself successfully net a goal. Sergei Sapego also scored midway through the period, and then Danila Palivko made it 6:3.
The third period for the Belarusian team started with the seventh goal scored by Yegor Borikov. However, the team failed to maintain a favourable lead as the opponents clamped down on their net and conceded four goals in a row in the last 10 minutes of the main time. The game went into overtime, where the Belarusians managed to snatch victory thanks to Vitaly Pinchuk's decisive shot. As a result, the crowd witnessed fifteen goals, and the final score was 8:7.
Dmitry Kvartalnov's team continues to go undefeated in the May series of friendlies. Llast week in Astana our hockey players defeated the teams Russia 25 (4:2) and Kazakhstan (2:0). Another match between Belarusians and Russians will be held in Tolyatti tomorrow, starting at 6 pm. The National Team-2025 tour will end with a home match against the eastern neighbours on May 8, the game at Minsk Arena starts at 7.30 pm.
