St. Petersburg, Brest Oblast to step up cooperation in tourism

The Saint Petersburg Committee for Tourism Development and the Sports and Tourism Department of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee have signed a cooperation agreement in tourism. The ceremony took place during the 3rd Belarus-Russia Tourism Congress, BelTA has learned.

The document was signed by Deputy Chair of the Saint Petersburg Committee for Tourism Development Nana Gvichia and Head of the Sports and Tourism Department of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee Yuri Khomich.

Nana Gvichia pointed to a noticeable rise in tourist arrivals from Belarus to Saint Petersburg. The increase was reported both in business and personal travel, as well as both on package tours and independent travel.

In turn, Chairman of the Board of the Belarusian Tourism Industry Union Filip Guly remarked that a flight was launched from Brest to St. Petersburg. The new flight made it possible to sell tours not only along the Moscow - St. Petersburg - Minsk route, but also tours through the Brest airport.
