Belarusian President o Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated workers and veterans of road transport and road services on their professional holiday - Motorist and Road Worker Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“By its geographical position, Belarus is a transit state, with over 100,000 kilometers of roads. Each of them, from high-speed highways and complex interchanges to well-maintained city streets, is the result of the painstaking work of designers, road workers, engineers and those who ensure traffic safety all year round,” the message of congratulations says.

The head of state noted that thanks to the reliability of transportation and the coordinated work of automobile transport and road services, life in the country is becoming more comfortable, the transport system more efficient, and road infrastructure better. “Every year, more than half of all passenger and freight transportation is carried out by road transport. These indicators are continuously growing,” the president noted. “Such dynamics require the industry to constantly move forward, assimilate new technologies and optimize logistics chains.”

“I am convinced that your professionalism, dedication and commitment will make it possible to implement the most ambitious projects,” Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized.

The Belarusian leader addressed separate words of gratitude to the veterans as their experience serves as a solid foundation for today’s achievements.

The president wished motorists and road workers good health, happiness and inexhaustible energy: “May all our roads lead to the success and prosperity of our dear Belarus.”
