Trade between Gomel Oblast of Belarus and Bryansk Oblast of Russia grew by 35.2% in the first six months of this year compared with the same period last year, but the two sides still have work to do and room to grow, Gomel Oblast Governor Ivan Krupko said during talks with Governor of Bryansk Oblast Yegor Kovalchuk, who arrived in Belarus on a working visit, BelTA has learned.

The key topics of the meeting were joint projects between the two regions in industry, construction and the patriotic education of young people. “We are ready to deepen cooperation in agriculture, the chemical industry and mechanical engineering. We also see growth points in construction and food supplies,” Ivan Krupko emphasised.

For his part, Yegor Kovalchuk stressed that Bryansk Oblast is ready to strengthen trade, economic, cooperative and social and humanitarian interaction, as well as to develop cooperation between small and medium-sized businesses.
