Putin: Union State mechanisms ensure high level of Belarus-Russia cooperation

Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a congratulatory telegram to Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko on the occasion of the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia, BelTA learned from the Kremlin press service.

“A quarter of a century ago, the Treaty on the Establishment of the Community of Russia and Belarus was signed, which became the first significant step on the path towards closer cooperation between our countries. Since then, much has been done to strengthen Russia-Belarus ties,” the Russian head of state said. The mechanisms of the Union State allow a high level of bilateral interaction in politics, trade, economy, humanitarian field and many other spheres. Moscow and Minsk are coordinating efforts in the international arena, making a significant contribution to stability and security in the Eurasian space,” the message reads.

Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that Russia and Belarus will keep working together to promote constructive relations.
