Lukashenko sends national day greetings to Hungary

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and all citizens of Hungary as the country celebrates its national holiday – St. Stephen’s Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“A shared commitment to sovereignty and independence, along with a mutual reverence for national identity, spiritual heritage, and traditions, has long united our nations and created a foundation for deeper cultural and humanitarian cooperation,” the message of greetings reads.

Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized that Belarus highly values Hungary’s commitment to peace and harmony in Europe. The Belarusian leader is confident that Minsk and Budapest are capable of making a joint contribution to strengthening regional security, the rule of law, and sustainable strategic stability. “I hope that cooperation between our countries will continue to develop on the basis of pragmatism, mutual support, and trust,” he added.

In his congratulatory message to the prime minister of Hungary, the president of Belarus noted that St. Stephen’s Day embodies the deep roots of Hungarian statehood, the spiritual unity of the people, and their historical wisdom, which for centuries has helped the country advance along the path of independent development.

“Minsk values the friendly and pragmatic relations with Budapest. We maintain open communication and continue our mutually beneficial cooperation to increase our citizens’ prosperity. I am confident that the effective dialogue at the official level and the friendly ties between Belarusians and Hungarians will continue to facilitate bilateral cooperation, including in the spheres of nuclear energy, agriculture, culture, and sports, as well as at international organizations,” the message of greetings reads.
