Prospects for UNDP Office in Belarus discussed in Minsk

Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik met with the outgoing UNDP Resident Representative in Belarus Alexandra Solovieva, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Sergei Aleinik thanked Alexandra Solovieva for her active work as the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program in Belarus and wished her further success in her professional activities, and also expressed hope for continuity in the work of the UNDP Office in Belarus.

The parties lauded the high level of interaction between Belarus and the United Nations and its main agencies and funds and exchanged views on the results and prospects of the UNDP Office in Belarus, including on sustainable development agenda.

The minister reaffirmed Belarus' commitment to maintaining the momentum in terms of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda by the scheduled date. "He also stressed the need to counter the policy of unilateral coercive measures that threaten the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and that negatively affect the sustainable development of states," the Foreign Ministry informed.
