Lukashenko sends birthday greetings to Pope Leo XIV

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated Pope Leo XIV on his birthday, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Your tireless service to God over many years inspires millions of believers to show mercy, compassion, and love for their neighbor,” the congratulatory message reads. “In today’s world, which yearns for stability and security, this lofty mission holds unique spiritual significance. It strengthens faith in the power of dialogue and resonates widely among people of different countries and religions.”

The head of state assured that the Holy See can always count on Belarus’ support for initiatives aimed at ensuring a just and sustainable peace in the region. “I am convinced that relations between Minsk and the Vatican must continue to develop steadily in order to preserve Christian heritage and humanitarian principles,” he emphasized.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Leo XIV long life, good health, and God’s blessing in his responsible work.
