Lavrov to attend CSTO Ministerial Council meeting in Minsk

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will attend a meeting of the CSTO Ministerial Council in Minsk on 20 June, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a news briefing on 15 June, BelTA has learned.

Maria Zakharova recalled that Belarus is chairing the CSTO this year. "The participants of the meeting will sum up the results of multilateral cooperation in the CSTO and discuss the prospects for further interaction. The ministers are set to have an in-depth exchange of views on the state of the international and regional situation and its impact on the security of the CSTO member states and also further steps to develop the CSTO's external relations," she said.

"It is expected that a number of joint documents will be approved following the meeting," Maria Zakharova added.
