Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Dmitry Krutoi met with Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Russia Alejandro Arias Zarzuela in Moscow on 22 January, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic mission.

The diplomats discussed ways to intensify bilateral political dialogue, including by arranging visits through the foreign ministries of the two countries. “We believe that bilateral working groups make a significant contribution to the promotion of trade and economic relations, so we welcomed the idea to set up a similar group between Belarus and the Dominican Republic. We believe that such a group would contribute to the development of relations in various areas,” the press service said.

The ambassadors emphasized the importance of well-functioning transport and logistics routes for promoting trade. “We acknowledged a key role of direct air communication in building and expanding contacts between states. We discussed the legal framework and we compared notes on draft bilateral agreements,” the diplomatic mission added.
