CSTO PA observer calls Belarus’ 2024 elections democratic

The elections in Belarus are being held in a democratic way and they comply with all norms and standards, Alisher Erbaev, coordinator of the group of international observers from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, member of the Committee on Agrarian Policy, Water Resources, Environment and Regional Development of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, told reporters at the CEC Information Center, BelTA has learned.

“When we met yesterday with the chairs of the Council of the Republic, the House of Representatives and the Central Election Commission of Belarus, they asked international observers to give an objective assessment of the ongoing electoral process,” said Alisher Erbaev.

He noted that international observers from the CSTO Interparliamentary Assembly visited a number of polling stations: “I can say that the elections are being held democratically, in compliance with all norms, standards and electoral legislation of Belarus.”
