Belarusian PM tours Russia International Exhibition and Forum in Moscow

On 18 December, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko together with his colleagues from the CIS member states who arrived in Moscow for a meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council visited the regional expositions of the Russia International Exhibition and Forum at VDNKh, BelTA has learned.

The Sverdlovsk Oblast exposition was presented by Governor Evgeny Kuyvashev. The exposition is themed around the idea of historical development through the prism of industries from Demidov factories to modern and future R&D. One of the exhibitors is Ural Turbine Works that manufactured 20 steam turbines for generation facilities in Belarus, including three powerful T-250 turbines for Minsk CHPP-4. According to the estimates of the Belarusian side, the turbines made by Ural Turbine Works account for 20% of the total volume of generating equipment in the country.

The Chelyabinsk Oblast exposition was presented by Governor Aleksei Tesler. It showcases the region's industrial capabilities, achievements in agriculture, sport, science and culture and also a model of the Arctic bus Ural-427701-75 that uses parts made in Belarus. For example, the Automobile Plant Ural uses cardan shafts and shock absorbers manufactured by Grodno Belcard, tires by Belshina, steering mechanisms by Borisov BZAGU, brake systems by Vavilov Minsk Mechanical Plant – Managing Company of BelOMO Holding Company. It is expected that the demand of Automobile Plant Ural for Belarusian-made goods in 2024 will increase by 28% over 2023 and by 93% as against 2022.

Bashkortostan displays the Amkodor manufacturing complexes. In October 2023, Amkodor-Agidel, which produces equipment for post-harvest grain processing, began operating in Ufimsky Industrial Park. Plans are also in place to build an Amkodor-Alga plant which will produce graders, bulldozers, excavators.

Among its achievements, Moscow Oblast showcases OOO Servolux Posad poultry meat processing facility in the city of Sergiev Posad, created by the largest Belarusian agricultural holding cpmpany. The first stage has already been commissioned. The facility is to come fully on stream tin 2025. In Moscow Oblast work is underway to build a cable products plant Beltelekabel. It is expected to go online in June 2024. It is planned to use Belarusian technological developments and components.

The prime ministers of the CIS member states visited the expositions of other Russian regions.

At the meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council, the Belarusian prime minister congratulated his Russian colleagues on the successful conduct of the he Russia International Exhibition and Forum the best traditions of VDNKh. "The exhibits on display demonstrate the huge production, scientific and technological capabilities of the Russian regions and the possibilities of their accelerated development," Roman Golovchenko said.

The Russia International Exhibition and Forum opened at VDNKh in Moscow on 4 November and will last until 12 April 2024. It features 89 regions, 22 federal executive bodies, 20 companies, corporations and public organizations. Belarus has updated its exposition in the Belarusian Pavilion at VDNKh especially for the Russia exhibition. It displays the exhibits from the Intellectual Belarus expo, a wooden house made of eco-friendly materials, an installation of the National Library of Belarus, made of a potash ore monolith, a mock-up of the Belarusian NPP and also Belarusian engineering and consumer goods from about 110 Belarusian companies.
