The Union State is a real center of power that everyone has to reckon with, Chair of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova said at the plenary session of the 10th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Ufa on 28 June, BelTA has learned.

“First of all, on behalf of the Belarusian delegation, let me express my sincere gratitude to Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin for having provided all kinds of assistance to the forum for ten years. The way the two leaders work and live is an outstanding example of serving our people and the entire humankind,” said Natalya Kochanova.

Despite all the challenges of today, Belarusians and Russians are strongly confident in the future, the speaker stressed. “This is because our heads of state are true national leaders and patriots of the Fatherland, who set clear guidelines for Belarus-Russia strategic cooperation and whom we fully trust. Their strong political will, vision and concern for people give us strength and inspire us to keep following this path. Under the wise leadership of our presidents, integration is successfully developing at all levels and its pinnacle is the Union State, a pivotal and ambitious project from a geopolitical point of view. This union gives Belarus and Russia unique experience that distinguishes us from other countries of the region and even the world,” Natalya Kochanova said.

“Today, the Union State is a real center of power that everyone has to reckon with, even despite their own strategic ambitions. Its power, scale, efficiency amidst large-scale aggression and tension in the world make our countries civilizational flagships with experience in building unions,” Natalya Kochanova said.
