Belarus' consulate general to open in St. Petersburg by 1 July

Belarus will open a consulate general in St. Petersburg by 1 July. This decision was formalized by the Council of Ministers' Resolution No. 145 as of 23 February 2023. The document was published on the National Legal Internet Portal, BelTA informs.

The government decided to shut down the St. Petersburg branch of the Belarusian Embassy by 1 July and and open a consulate general instead.

The Finance Ministry will finance the opening and operations of the Consulate General of Belarus in St. Petersburg using the funds allocated to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for opening and maintaining diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad.

The document came into force on the day of its official publication.
