Belarus’ cargo transportation via Russian transport corridors up 1.9 times in 2023

Belarus increased cargo transportation through the transport corridors of Russia by 1.9 times in 2023, Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi said during a meeting of the High-Level Group of the Council of Ministers of the Union State on 12 March, BelTA has learned.

“Logistics is an important area. We increased cargo transportation through the transport corridors of Russia by 1.9 times last year. We are not stopping there, the growth in the first two months under the agreements signed between our transport departments is almost 25% of the past two years’ highest base,” Dmitry Krutoi said.

The Union State Supreme State Council resolution on Belarus’ participation in the modernization of the railway infrastructure to the ports of St. Petersburg and Murmansk, active use of the Eastern railroads, the Northern Sea Route and a significant intensification of work on the North-South corridor is aimed at the implementation of new joint projects.
