Belarusian, Russian energy ministers discuss cooperation in natural gas trade

Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich has held negotiations with his Russian counterpart Aleksandr Novak via a videoconference, BelTA has learned.

Viktor Karankevich and Aleksandr Novak discussed topical aspects of Belarus-Russia cooperation in the sphere of natural gas, the Russian Federation Energy Ministry said.

During the session of the High Level Group of the Council of Ministers of the Union State of Belarus and Russia on 5 June the Russian Energy Ministry was given instructions to address Belarusian concerns regarding shipments of natural gas. State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Grigory Rapota said after the session: “The matter of tariffs on natural gas for Belarus was raised. The energy ministries are working on it now. They've been instructed to address Belarusian concerns. In order to find some solution that satisfies both sides.”
