‘This assignment is due to the fact that Roman Alexandrovich has always wanted greater involvement of the bank and the banking system in the economy. He is an experienced person. This is a very important assignment. I believe that he and Alexander Henrikhovich will find common ground and finally put some issues of our economy, which relate to its financing, upside down,’ the head of state said.
The President thanked Roman Golovchenko for accepting the position.
‘Absolutely sincerely I want to say publicly so that there is no misunderstandings. You don't go there to have a rest. But I believe that relaxation is not just lying down on the couch. It's a change of scenery. It's how I live my life. And I'm guessing that's how you live, too. Therefore, after this terrible period of your work as the chairman of the government, having changed the environment, you will at least relax a little bit. Maybe not relax. But according to my plan you will definitely not rest,’ said Alexander Lukashenko. - I want very experienced, strong people, organisers and economists to be in charge of the economy in this five-year period. You know the economy very well at the highest level, working as the chairman of the government,’ he said.
