Belarus' Rhythmic Gymnastics Open Cup kicks off in Minsk

Minsk is hosting the Belarusian Rhythmic Gymnastics Open Cup, BelTA has learned.

Competing for medals will be 160 athletes from Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan. Medal events will be held in three age categories both in individual and groups routines, as also the team event. Leader of the Belarusian national team Alina Harnasko will not be able to take part in the competition due to an injury. Belarus' Anastasiia Salos will not participate either. The seniors event will feature 2nd CIS Games medalist Yelyzaveta Zorkina, and also many other gymnasts gracing the podiums of many prestigious international tournaments: Anna Kondrashina, Anna Kamenshchikova, Daria Tkacheva, Darya Grokhotova, Alina Rechkina, Arina Krasnorutskaya and Polina Sheiman.

The competitions at the Gymnastics Center will start at 11.00, with the opening ceremony scheduled for 13.30. The All-Around medal events will be held on Thursday. The individual finals will take place on 29 September. The competition program will be followed by a gala show to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Belarusian Gymnastics Association. The show will feature representatives of various gymnastic disciplines, including Olympic medalists, world and European champions.
