Belarus and the Tyumen Region have approved a roadmap for developing scientific and technological cooperation for 2026-2028, the State Committee for Science and Technology (SCST) press service reported.

A joint meeting of the working group on trade, economic, and scientific-technical cooperation between Belarus and the Tyumen Region was held in a hybrid format on the sidelines of the TNF 2025 industrial and energy forum in Tyumen. Following the discussion, it was decided to create a subworking group to develop scientific and technological cooperation. It was chaired on the Belarusian side by Tatyana Stolyarova, Deputy Chair of the State Committee on Science and Technology, and on the Tyumen side by Anatoly Kartukhin, Director of the Department of Investment Policy and State Support for Entrepreneurship of the Tyumen Region.

Tatyana Stolyarova noted that the Tyumen Region will become the second Russian region with which the State Committee on Science and Technology will directly implement project activities. She noted that similar cooperation is already underway with St. Petersburg, where 10 joint projects in various fields are being implemented.

The approved roadmap envisages the announcement of the first competition for scientific and technical projects in promising areas of cooperation in early 2026. The State Committee for Science and Technology and the Department of Investment Policy and State Support for Entrepreneurship of the Tyumen Region will jointly identify these areas. The newly created working group will ensure prompt interaction and flexibility in decision-making to achieve these goals.

Tatyana Stolyarova emphasized Belarus's interest in further developing cooperation with Russia in the scientific and technical sphere and expressed confidence that support for joint projects will provide a powerful impetus to intensifying interaction between scientific and innovative organizations in Belarus and the Tyumen Region and contribute to the development of bilateral cooperation.
