Minsk to host next meeting of Eurasian Intergovernmental Council

The next meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will be held in Minsk, Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin said at an expanded session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, BelTA has learned.

“We will be able to continue working on the theme of deep industrial cooperation during the upcoming international exhibition INNOPROM. Belarus, which will be held in Minsk from 30 September to 2 October of this year, concurrently with the next session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council,” Aleksandr Turchin said.
He expressed the wish that Eurasian cooperation projects be innovative, high-tech, and built on digital solutions. “Consequently, we need to give the green light to cooperation in science. There is an opinion that the EAEU has a strictly economic purpose. However, in the contest of rapid development, a state is doomed to total backwardness without robust science. We clearly need collective tools that stimulate R&D and ensure access to cutting-edge technologies,” the prime minister noted.
