Prospects for Belarusian-Cuban cooperation in healthcare, pharmaceuticals discussed in Minsk

Belarus' Healthcare Minister Dmitry Pinevich met with Cuba's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Belarus Juan Valdes Figueroa in Minsk on 15 February, BelTA learned from the ministry's press service.

The parties discussed the prospects for developing the Belarusian-Cuban cooperation in the field of healthcare and the pharmaceutical industry. "The parties expressed confidence that the development of ties in these sectors will provide an additional impetus to the Belarusian-Cuban trade and economic relations," the ministry said.

The parties also discussed the status of implementation of the Belarus-Cuba intergovernmental agreement on mutual supplies. "Special consideration was given to the possibility of implementing projects to supply Belarusian medicines to Cuba and localizing the production of a number of Cuban medicines in Belarus," the press service emphasized.
