Makei, Lavrov discuss situation in region, special operation in Ukraine

 Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei held a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on 5 March, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The foreign ministers discussed the situation in the region and also the situation regarding Russia's special military operation in Ukraine.

The parties also touched upon topical issues of cooperation in the international arena, including cooperation in order to counter information attacks and the dissemination of misleading information.

The parties also discussed issues of opening humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of foreign nationals from war zones or those in a difficult situation on the territory of Ukraine.

They additionally discussed forthcoming bilateral contacts.
