Unity with Russia is the best option for the EU, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at an opening ceremony of city children's polyclinic No. 9 in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

"The best option for Europe (I am an experienced politician) is unity with Russia and the creation of a huge center of power. Technological West, resource-rich Russia (post-Soviet space). Neither America nor China would be able to compare. Well, it is a pity they are short-witted. They will not be going this way. Not only because they lack wits, but because the Americans will not allow them. The United States have their army, nuclear warheads in Europe. Therefore, it has enough levers to keep Europe in check," the president said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that the United States has long wanted to weaken Europe. "Trump decided to destroy it altogether: dragged the UK away, appeased Poland. Now this process is going deeper and wider. Poland, the UK keep Europe under control, and this poor Europe has no room for maneuver,” the president noted. “There are technologically strong states, for example the nuclear France, the economically powerful Germany. It would be good if they broke away and came to an agreement with Russia (Russia is ready for this) and create the strongest center here. China, the European Union along with Russia and us and the United States. Then the United States will have no other way but to calm down. But the EU will not do that, both for objective and subjective reasons."
