Lukashenko approves agreement on council of supreme courts' chairs in CIS

On 29 March Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 123 to approve the Agreement on the Establishment of the Council of Chairs of the Supreme (Higher) Courts of the CIS Member States, BelTA learned from the press service of the president.

The agreement was signed by the leaders of the CIS countries on 15 October 2021. It is expected that the Council of Chairs of the Supreme (Higher) Courts will increase the efficiency of the exchange of best practices on judicial matters and will also facilitate cooperation in the field of justice.

One of the main functions of the Council will be information exchange on national legislations and judicial practices, on the application by national courts of international treaties on legal assistance and legal relations in the CIS.
