Belarus PM off to Kyrgyzstan for EAEU summit

Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko has left for Kyrgyzstan to take part in the in-person meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Cholpon-Ata on 25-26 August, BelTA has learned.

The heads of delegations participating in the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council are set to meet with Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov.
While in Kyrgyzstan, Roman Golovchenko is expected to hold working meetings with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Prime Minister Ali Asadov of Azerbaijan and Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov of Uzbekistan.
According to the EEC press service, the heads of government of the Eurasian Economic Union The heads of government will discuss the amendments to the EAEU Treaty in terms of levying indirect taxes on electronic trade in goods sold to individuals, a list of priority integration infrastructure projects of EAEU countries in the transport sector, as well as further work to expand the use of national currencies of member states in the implementation of settlements in mutual trade.
The Eurasian Economic Commission will report to the Intergovernmental Council on the progress in the implementation of mechanisms to finance industrial cooperation in the EAEU and on the progress on the agreement on the regulation of the EAEU alcohol market. To promote economic growth and expand mutual and foreign trade and economic relations in the EAEU, the Council is set to sign a draft agreement on the establishment of the Eurasian Reinsurance Company.
The EAEU heads of government are also expected to take part in the first-day-of-issue dedication ceremony for the stamp to mark the 10th anniversary of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
Cholpon-Ata is set to host the EAEU and CIS Youth Forum on the same days. The forum will be attended by more than 200 delegates - young entrepreneurs, civil servants, representatives of creative young people, young diplomats and students from the EAEU and the CIS countries. The purpose of the forum is to promote cooperation between member states and popularize the idea of Eurasian integration. The forum is aimed at expanding youth interaction, creating new opportunities for the implementation of initiatives, social and professional fulfillment of the younger generation. The key event of the forum will be a meeting of its participants with the deputy heads of government of the EAEU countries, Chairman of the Board of the EAEU Mikhail Myasnikovich and Chairman of the Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev.
